Drainage is a key part of restoring important habitat areas as well as enhancing the overall landscape. The drainage solution will be a Sustainable Drainage System, often referred to as a SuDS. This is an alternative to the direct channelling of surface water through networks of pipes. Our engineers have designed a SuDS with a capacity that will cope even with a one in a 100-year event. This will also help protect surrounding areas from any exceptional climate events.

The drainage solution will utilise a method of infiltration known as a ‘Deep Bore Soakaways’. By using natural methods, we will also remove hydrocarbons and contaminants to improve ground water quality.
